Islamic Health & Human
Services is a full service social service agency which staffed with a
compliment of health care professionals. The Mission of this agency is to
provide physical and psychological health care according to the Laws and
Traditions of Islam, and to make that care available to all. Toward that
end, a full compliment of social services and health care services are
offered through the agency.
HOSPITAL SERVICES:
Coordination of Islamic Hospital care at Detroit Riverview Hospital and
other hospitals in Michigan:
A Muslim Patient under our program will be provided with the following
services in the hospitals that approved this program: N.P.R .- Nutrition
- Privacy - Religion
Nutrition:
-Halal Food , Medications ( Non Pork Meds, Alcohol Free Meds.)
- Entree Package ( Soap Bars, Mouth Wash, Toothpaste, Deodorants, lotions)
Privacy:
- Complete Hijab Service for Muslim Women Patients.
- Same Gender Service
- Privacy may also apply for the male patients.
- Post Mortem Care
Religion:
- The Daily Prayer ( salat) ( the Qiblah Direction, Ablution , Salat time
table)
- Ramadan Fasting.
- Adhan and Eqama in newborn ears.
- Bathroom Manners.
- Death and Funeral Procedure.
- Medical-Ethical-Religious Issues ( Autopsy, Organ Donation, Blood
transfusion…etc.)
IHHS Future Services:
- Islamic Funeral Home Services.
- Medical-Islamic Training for Medical Students, Residents and Nurses…..
- Establish a Muslim Physicians and Health Providers Database.
- Expand IHHS Nationwide.
COUNSELING: provided at main office, downtown Detroit
PRISON OUTREACH: Muslim house -residential and out-patient
care for prisoners and their families, including re-entry groups
