Hamdard Center has
its own licensed shelter facility which is fully functional and can
accommodate up to ten residents at any given time.
It is a comprehensive community mental health
agency, providing an array of clinically focused services.
Hamdard Center is soon to became a licensed Child
Welfare Agency. It can recruit, train, and license foster parents
from our own community.
Hamdard Center has been, for many years, a
recognized training site for doctoral and masters level psych and
counseling interns from several major academic institutions in the Chicago
area.
- provides a crisis line
(630-860-9122) round the clock for assessment and brief and immediate
intervention and emergency assistance.
- provides shelter,
protection, representation, and advocacy for the victims (women,
children, and elders) of domestic violence and abuse.
- provides bilingual
counseling to individuals, couples, and families. Facilitates
presevervation and stabilization of families.
- deals with the Division
of Child Family Services in abuse and neglect cases.
- provides parenting
skills training to parents under court supervision.
- serves as a processing
center for a variety of human service needs through a single point of
contact.
- provides educational,
employment, housing, medical, dental, and legal assistance and
referrals.
