Accusation of Alcoholism

Question:
Alcholism. I have been accused, and I am shocked, by how easily accepted, by my friends. How do I defend myself?

Response:
Hello R
The best way of dealing with such a situation is to discuss it with them openly. Tell them what you have heard, how you feel about it, ask them if they have seen you drunk, how often, and how come they believed this about you, etc.... kind of a reality check.

However, before taking this step, do a reality check on yourself.... could it be possible that you do not see what others around you see... alcoholics are often in denial about the extent of their own drinking.

Be honest with yourself first and then with your friends.
