Depression
and Suicide
Suicide
is the most tragic consequence of depression. After a suicide, family and
friends often say, "Sure, she was sad, but we never imagined she'd do
that."
You don't have to be a physician or psychologist to recognize the warning signs
of suicide. If anyone you know -- young or old -- talks about feeling hopeless
or ending their life urge the person to seek help. Don't delay and don't
take it lightly.
- "Life isn't worth living."
- "I have no future."
- "Maybe things would be better if I
weren't around."
- "Sometimes I just want to go to
sleep and not wake up."
- "Who do you think would come to my
funeral?"
- "I'm thinking about killing
myself."
